This guy had his first day of school today! He was so excited, but a little bit nervous as we left the house.
When I picked him up from school this is what he told me what they did. First she said her name and then she called our names and then we all said "Hi, Mrs. Lawrence." Then she showed us where the bathrooms were in case we needed to go potty. Then we traced our hand and cut it out and then we were suppose to put in on an ice cream cone in the hallway. After we did that, then everyone else sat down to look at books and when we were done looking at books, she let us have otter pops. Then it was time to go home.
Aaron did tell me that he wasn't able to get his hand finished and he was a little upset about that because everyone else finished. So I told him now that he is in school he can't be slow about doing somethings. Aaron is pretty slow at doing some things - he likes to go at own pace and take his time. So, later when we said prayer for dinner, he asked for help at not being slow and being able to get things done when he needed to. :)
During the school year, they will be working with Waterford reading books. So we were able to take home some books and a DVD that Mrs. Lawrence said they will be using for their homework. When we got home, Aaron immediately started reading the books. I think he has read about half of them all ready. They are pretty short and easy to read.
I can't believe the years have gone by so fast and Aaron is in school now. I know he will enjoy school a lot and will have lots to tell me everyday!
