2 Months

Owen had his 2 month check up the other day. He weighed 13 lbs (80th percentile) and is 24 inches (84th percentile). The doctor was very impressed with his growth. He has grown 2 inches since he was born and gained a little over 4 lbs since his 2 week appointment! 

The doctor was also impressed that he could roll from his stomach to his back! He said he doesn't know very many 2 month old babies that can do that! He thinks he will start crawling early! 

Owen is smiling and cooing more now. It is so fun to see his face light up when you talk to him. I think he will start laughing pretty soon. Sometimes he gets close to an actual laugh when he is smiling and talking to you. 

He has slept one night for 6 hours and another night for 8 hours. It was so nice to get lots of sleep on those nights! But usually he is up twice a night to feed and that isn't too bad. He is very easy to put back to sleep. 

In fact, even during the day he falls asleep easily for his naps. 

He isn't a big fan of his pacifier. He will take it, but it doesn't need to be in his mouth all the time. He prefers to suck on his hands/fingers. They are in his mouth more than the pacifier. We try to keep them out of his mouth because we don't want a hand/finger sucker! But sometimes it is very nice that he is able to soothe himself that way and fall back asleep with just one or two sucks on his hand.
